Graphic Design Project – JH
- Designer Jake Heeps
This exhibition design project was a continuation of a previous corporate identity exercise for an Aviation Museum. This project was to create an exhibit which would run in that museum. As part of the brief I was to design an entry mural, information panel and poster to promote a exhibit on the history of the spitfire. My method behind this project was to create a simple and effective design which could represent the entire expo. To achieve this I decided to focus on a single shape, in this case a rhomboid, as I felt it could work well. I used the shape to form the identity of the exhibit; creating spitfires which would swoop down the poster and entry design towards a viewer giving a sense of action. Pattern work on the information panel would see the rhomboids become targets overlapping an image of a fighter plane and reflecting where the main hit points would be as well as missed shots.
